How can I give you an inkling of me through a website? It's a bit odd to introduce myself this way, but...here it goes:
If you can imagine meeting me at a party: I'm that girl who talks to anybody and is maybe a little louder than most. Not because I'm trying to draw attention; that is certainly not part of my personality. It's just...I've got a lot of energy. I sincerely am interested in every conversation: I love people, I love stories, and I love learning new things. If you aren't rude, belittling of others or arrogant, I will give you and your thoughts as much attention as I possibly can and provide you with an honest and respectful discussion.
In accordance with my love of story and learning, my previous career found me teaching reading, language arts and writing and then becoming a school librarian. Before that I worked for seven years as a printer and designer of stationery at Write Impressions in Chicago, IL (now a wonderful, retired memory), working with clients such as the Chicago Tribune, Harpo Studios and Disney.
If you can't tell, I am obsessed with words and grammar (hence, starting my own company to do small business copyediting; see I Consult). I love being organized, well-planned and efficient, and I love to read and write. Words are my playground. I thoroughly enjoy rewriting a piece over and over until it is concise and says exactly what I want it to portray.
When it comes to my job, I am as honest as the day is long with a German work ethic to go with it. I am incredibly proud of my work, and if I screw up, I take responsibility. If we work together, I will consider myself part of your team forever, even when one of us moves on. I will forever talk about you or your business as "we" because I am honored to have been part of your history.
